Karnataka Appellate Tribunal Opens Applications for Legal Internship in Bengaluru

The Karnataka Appellate Tribunal has announced an opportunity for law students to apply for its esteemed legal internship program. This program is an excellent chance for aspiring legal professionals to gain practical experience by working alongside the Chairperson and Members of the Tribunal. Participants will engage in various tasks, including assisting in the daily functioning of the tribunal, managing judicial records, and conducting case research.

Program Details

The Karnataka Appellate Tribunal is situated at MS Building, 1st Gate, 2nd Floor, Bengaluru-560001. The internship spans a period of 6 to 8 weeks and is conducted in an offline, in-office setting. While the internship is unpaid, interns will receive a certificate upon the successful evaluation of their completion report.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for this internship, candidates must be enrolled in a recognized 3-year or 5-year LL.B. degree program. Preference will be given to students in their 3rd year or higher for 5-year courses, and 2nd year or higher for 3-year courses. Additionally, candidates should have strong skills in legal research and drafting.

Roles and Responsibilities

Interns will be tasked with assisting judicial and legal officers in reviewing case files and conducting extensive research on statutory provisions and case laws. They will also observe court and tribunal proceedings and maintain judicial records. At the conclusion of the internship, participants are expected to compile a comprehensive research report or paper.

These include a Curriculum Vitae (CV) that highlights academic achievements and research experience, a recommendation letter from the Dean or an authorized faculty member of the candidate’s Law College or University addressed to the Registrar of the Karnataka Appellate Tribunal, and a valid student identity card issued by their educational institution.
