Professor Gupta is renowned for his expertise in Technology Law, Information Technology Law, Data Protection, and Intellectual Property Law. His academic journey is marked by significant leadership positions, including his tenure at OP Jindal Global University (JGU) where he notably served as a professor at the Jindal Global Law School (JGLS). Additionally, he was the Dean of the Office of Data, Innovation, and Technology, and the Director of the Jindal Initiative on Research in IP and Competition (JIRICO).

During his time at JGU, Professor Gupta contributed significantly to institutional governance. His roles as Controller of Examinations and Dean of Research were pivotal in enhancing academic quality, fostering research excellence, and promoting digital innovation.
