Professor Gupta is renowned for his expertise in Technology Law, Information Technology Law, Data Protection, and Intellectual Property Law. His academic journey is marked by significant leadership positions, including his tenure at OP Jindal Global University (JGU) where he notably served as a professor at the Jindal Global Law School (JGLS). Additionally, he was the Dean of the Office of Data, Innovation, and Technology, and the Director of the Jindal Initiative on Research in IP and Competition (JIRICO).
Contributions to Institutional Governance
During his time at JGU, Professor Gupta contributed significantly to institutional governance. His roles as Controller of Examinations and Dean of Research were pivotal in enhancing academic quality, fostering research excellence, and promoting digital innovation. International Recognition and Collaborations
Professor Gupta’s international acclaim is highlighted by his appointment as the European Union Jean Monnet Chair, through which he coordinated the EU-funded project on Multi-dimensional Approaches to the Understanding of the EU Data Protection Framework from 2020 to 2023. His global engagements also include being a Jean Monnet Visiting Research Fellow at Bournemouth University in the UK and collaborating with Università Bocconi in Milan on a European Commission-funded research initiative.
