The Centre for Criminal Justice Administration and Research (CJAR) at Dharmashastra National Law University (DNLU), Jabalpur, in collaboration with Agnel School of Law, Vashi, Navi Mumbai, is set to host a two-day single credit course focused on new criminal laws. This educational event is scheduled for October 9 and 10, 2026, and will be followed by an international conference on October 11.
This immersive course will take place at DNLU, offering participants a thorough analysis of the recent paradigm shift in India’s criminal justice system. This shift has been spurred by the enactment of major legislative updates, namely the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023, and Bharatiya Sakshya Adhiniyam, 2023. The course is meticulously crafted to bridge the gap between academic theory and practical application of these new legal frameworks. Interested individuals can register until September 30.
The subsequent conference, titled “Transforming Criminal Justice in India: Implementation of the New Criminal Laws, Artificial Intelligence, and Digital Justice,” will adopt a hybrid format. This event aims to delve into the extensive changes within India’s criminal justice landscape and the growing influence of technology in areas such as policing, investigation, prosecution, and adjudication. Key topics will include the application of new criminal laws alongside advancements in Artificial Intelligence, digital technology, electronic evidence, forensic science, and cybersecurity.
The conference extends an invitation to academicians, legal professionals, advocates, research scholars, and students. It also calls for the submission of original and unpublished research papers. Interested authors should submit abstracts by September 15, 2026, with acceptance notifications due by September 18, 2026. Full paper submissions are accepted until October 2, 2026, while conference registration will close on September 30, 2026.
This three-day academic gathering is poised to provide a vital platform for scrutinizing the practical and legal ramifications of India’s new criminal laws. Moreover, it will explore how innovative technologies are reshaping the administration of criminal justice.
