A distinguished team from Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University (RMLNLU) has emerged victorious at the Asian Law Students’ Association (ALSA) International Moot Court Competition 2026, hosted in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The triumphant team included Varun Pratap Singh, Shiven Gupta, Anay Pratap Singh, and Vandit Sharma, who showcased exceptional legal prowess.
Shiven Gupta stood out among his peers and was honored with the Best Oralist (Overall) award, further underscoring the team’s exemplary performance. The 2026 competition was centered around the complex theme of International Sports Law Arbitration, challenging participants to navigate intricate legal landscapes.
The ALSA International Moot is a prestigious event that assembles law students from across Asia in a simulated arbitration setting. Participants are tasked with dissecting legal issues, conducting in-depth research on international legal doctrines, and crafting persuasive written memorials for both the Claimant and the Respondent. These memorials are pivotal, setting the stage for success before the commencement of the oral rounds.
The oral rounds are a rigorous test of the participants’ advocacy skills, beginning with preliminary hearings where they present arguments before a panel of seasoned arbitrators.
