CJI Surya Kant Highlights the Essence of Yoga for Holistic Wellness
On the occasion of the 12th International Day of Yoga, Chief Justice of India (CJI) Surya Kant emphasized that true wellness transcends physical fitness, encompassing a harmonious integration of the mind, body, and spirit. He advocated for yoga as a practical approach to achieving this balance during a special session at the Supreme Court’s Administrative Building Complex.
International Yoga Day at the Supreme Court
The event, organized by the All India Institute of Ayurveda (AIIA), witnessed participation from Supreme Court judges, officials, staff members, and AIIA representatives. The theme for this year, “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” underlined the role of yoga in promoting longevity and overall well-being.
Incorporating Yoga into Daily Life
Addressing the gathering, CJI Kant stressed the importance of integrating yoga into daily routines rather than restricting it to a singular annual observance. He noted that even amidst the demanding schedules of Supreme Court Registry staff, dedicating just a few minutes to mindful breathing or stretching can greatly enhance stress management.
The Pursuit of Consistency
CJI Kant further encouraged attendees to prioritize consistency over intensity in their yoga practices. He suggested simple yet effective routines, such as ten minutes of morning meditation or evening stretching exercises, to be adopted into daily life for sustainable health benefits.
