Justice Ravindra Ghuge Elevated to Chief Justice of Calcutta High Court
The Central Government has officially announced the appointment of Justice Ravindra V. Ghuge as the Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court. This significant development was confirmed on Saturday, following the recommendation by the Supreme Court Collegium on August 6.
Justice Ghuge has been serving as the acting Chief Justice of the Bombay High Court prior to this appointment. His legal career began after he completed his law degree at MP Law College in Aurangabad in 1990. Subsequently, he joined the Bar the same year, marking the start of his distinguished journey in the legal field.
In 2013, Justice Ghuge was elevated to the position of judge at the Bombay High Court, demonstrating his competence and dedication to the judiciary. His appointment as the acting Chief Justice came after the previous Chief Justice, Shree Chandrashekhar, was elevated to the Supreme Court in June this year.
