NLIU Bhopal Triumphs at NLU Delhi's Inaugural National Trial Advocacy Competition

The National Law Institute University (NLIU), Bhopal emerged victorious at the inaugural National Trial Advocacy Competition, hosted by National Law University Delhi (NLUD) in partnership with Think India. This prestigious event concluded with a valedictory ceremony held on August 9 at the university’s Moot Court Hall.

The University of Rajasthan secured the position of runner-up in this competitive legal event. Another notable achievement came from Maharashtra National Law University (MNLU), Nagpur, which was awarded the Best Memorial prize. Mansi Dadhich, representing the National Forensic Sciences University, earned the accolade of Best Speaker.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta graced the occasion as the chief guest. In her insightful speech titled “Principles of Governance and Intersection of Law,” she emphasized the critical role of legal frameworks in effective governance. She also urged young legal professionals to leverage their academic expertise for societal betterment and contribute to India’s developmental goals.

The ceremony commenced with the traditional lighting of the lamp, signifying the start of an event filled with promise and potential. The gathering was then briefed on the competition’s structure, participation, and key highlights. Prof (Dr.) GS Bajpai, Vice Chancellor of NLUD, delivered a warm welcome address, underlining the importance of trial advocacy in the development of competent legal professionals.

Ashish Chauhan, the National Organising Secretary of the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP), addressed the attendees, highlighting the significant role of youth as the future custodians of legal rights. The event then transitioned to the prize distribution ceremony, recognizing the outstanding performances of participants.

Prof. (Dr.) Risham Garg, the Registrar of NLUD, delivered the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to all who contributed to the event’s success. The ceremony concluded on a patriotic note with the rendition of the national anthem, marking the end of a memorable and inspiring event.
