The Delhi High Court has officially appointed Reetesh Singh, an officer from the Delhi Higher Judicial Service (DHJS), as its new Registrar General. This appointment marks a significant transition in the court’s administration.
Reetesh Singh, who is currently serving as the Principal Secretary for Law, Justice, and Legislative Affairs with the Government of the National Capital Territory (NCT) of Delhi, will assume his new role on a deputation basis starting September 22, 2026. The official notification, released by the High Court, states, “Hon’ble the Chief Justice has been pleased to appoint Mr. Reetesh Singh, an Officer of Delhi Higher Judicial Service, presently posted as Principal Secretary (Law, Justice and Legislative Affairs), Govt. of NCT of Delhi, as Registrar General in this Court on deputation basis, with effect from 22.09.2026.”
This appointment follows the elevation of the former Registrar General, Arun Bhardwaj, who has been promoted as an additional judge of the High Court. Bhardwaj’s swearing-in ceremony took place on September 21, marking the beginning of his tenure in this new capacity.
Reetesh Singh’s transition to the role of Registrar General is expected to bring his extensive experience in judicial administration and legal affairs to the forefront, potentially enhancing the operational efficiency of the Delhi High Court.
