In a significant development in the hospitality sector, InterGlobe Enterprises Private Limited and AAPC India Hotel Management Private Limited, part of the Accor group, have obtained the green light from the Competition Commission of India (CCI) to proceed with their merger. This merger encompasses AAPC India Hotel Management, Caddie Hotels, Triguna Hospitality Ventures, and several other associated entities into the fold of InterGlobe Hotels.
The esteemed law firm, JSA Advocates & Solicitors, was instrumental in securing this approval. They provided comprehensive legal guidance to the involved parties throughout the merger control proceedings before the CCI. Leading the charge from JSA was Partner Vaibhav Choukse, supported by a proficient team including Partner Ela Bali, Principal Associate Aditi Khanna, Senior Associate Faiz Siddiqui, Associate Priyanshi Jain, and Junior Associate Yaatri Shah. Their collective expertise ensured a smooth navigation through the complexities of the merger control process.
InterGlobe Enterprises is renowned as one of India’s foremost business conglomerates, with diverse operations across sectors such as aviation, hospitality, travel, logistics, and technology. Meanwhile, Accor stands as a global leader in the hospitality industry, boasting a rich portfolio of brands within India, such as Novotel, ibis, Pullman, Mercure, Sofitel, Hoxton, Mama Shelter, Fairmont, and Raffles.
The merger is strategically aimed at blending Accor’s robust hotel management and brand platform with InterGlobe’s expertise in hotel ownership and development. This union is poised to forge an integrated platform that will oversee the development, ownership, management, and expansion of Accor-branded hotels across India, thereby enhancing the hospitality landscape in the region.
