JSA Advises on Lalithaa Jewellery's ₹1,700 Crore IPO

Lalithaa Jewellery Mart Limited has successfully raised ₹1,700 crore through an initial public offering (IPO) of equity shares, which includes both a fresh issue and an offer for sale. The legal advisory for this substantial IPO was provided by JSA Advocates and Solicitors. They represented both Lalithaa Jewellery Mart and the Promoter Selling Shareholder, M. Kiran Kumar Jain, in this transaction.

The dedicated team from JSA was led by Partner Arka Mookerjee, with substantial contributions from Partners Pracheta Bhattacharya, Anshu Bansal, and Kairav Parikh. The legal team also comprised Senior Associate Vatsla Varandani and Associates Shreya Sharma, Ritu Jaiswal, Johann Duckworth, and Bernedict Rozario.

Expansion Plans and Financial Strategy

The Chennai-based jewellery retailer intends to allocate ₹1,014.5 crore from the IPO proceeds towards expanding its store network across India. The remaining funds will support general corporate purposes. Currently, Lalithaa Jewellery operates 56 stores across five states and Union Territories, and it generated a revenue of ₹16,788 crore in the financial year 2024.

Market Growth and Revenue

This IPO is strategically timed amid a growing demand in India’s jewellery market, which is anticipated to almost double by FY2029. Lalithaa Jewellery has reported a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 43.6% in store-level revenue from FY2022 to FY2024, marking one of the highest growth rates in the organized jewellery sector. The company also operates two manufacturing facilities in Tamil Nadu and is renowned for its BIS-hallmarked products and loyalty schemes like ‘Dhana Vandhanam’.
