Delhi High Court Approves 85 Lawyers for Senior Advocate Status

In a significant development, the Delhi High Court has sanctioned the designation of 85 lawyers as Senior Advocates. This decision was reached during a full court meeting held on Thursday evening.

Out of the 86 names proposed, 85 have successfully received approval for the senior designation. Notably, the list includes eleven women lawyers, marking a step toward gender diversity within the senior ranks.

The proposed names were initially reviewed and recommended by the Committee for the Designation of Senior Advocates. This committee is composed of Chief Justice Devendra Kumar Upadhyaya, Justices V Kameswar Rao and Nitin Wasudeo Sambre, along with Delhi High Court Bar Association (DHCBA) President N Hariharan.
