The Jammu & Kashmir High Court Bar Association, Jammu (JKHCBAJ), has marked a significant milestone by obtaining formal registration with the Registrar of Societies, an achievement that comes 99 years after its inception. This historic development was commemorated at a special event held in the Bar Hall of the Jammu Wing of the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh.
The ceremony witnessed the presence of esteemed members of the judiciary, including Chief Justice Arun Palli, and Justices Sindhu Sharma, Rajneesh Oswal, Rahul Bharti, Moksha Khajuria Kazmi, Rajesh Sekhri, Mohd Yousuf Wani, and Shahzad Azeem. This registration is hailed as a groundbreaking achievement that will bolster the association’s institutional framework and uphold its longstanding legacy.
During the event, the contributions of key members such as President K Nirmal Kotwal, Vice President S Baldev Singh, General Secretary Pardeep Majotra, Joint Secretary Anshu Mahajan, and Treasurer Rahul Aggarwal were particularly acknowledged for their instrumental roles in securing this long-anticipated registration.
“Established nearly a century ago, the JKHCBAJ has been a cornerstone for the legal community in Jammu and Kashmir, advocating for the interests of lawyers and addressing the issues faced by the people of Jammu province,” stated one of the association’s members, reflecting on the organization’s enduring impact and commitment to legal advocacy.
