Khaitan & Co Guides Third Wave Coffee in ₹408 Crore Series D Funding

In a significant development for the coffee industry, Heisetasse Beverages Private Limited, popularly known as Third Wave Coffee, has successfully secured ₹408 crore through a Series D funding round. This round was prominently led by WestBridge Capital, marking another major milestone for the company.

Renowned law firm Khaitan & Co played a pivotal role in this financial endeavor by advising Third Wave Coffee on the nuances of the fundraise. The Khaitan & Co team was spearheaded by Partners Ganesh Prasad and B N Vivek, with vital contributions from Senior Associate Divya Rau, and Associates Maansi Reddy Basani, Akanksha G Prabhu, Chaitanya Jitendra Acharya, and Shlok Mittal. Tax-related advice was dispensed by Partner Anshul Khemuka, ensuring comprehensive legal coverage.

Notably, Khaitan & Co had previously advised Third Wave Coffee during their Series C funding round, demonstrating a continued relationship and trust between the two entities.

The legal due diligence for this transaction was meticulously conducted by the in-house team of Heisetasse Beverages, under the leadership of Vijay Kamath, Head of Legal. This diligence ensured that all legal aspects were thoroughly vetted, providing a solid foundation for the company’s financial strategies.

The infusion of fresh capital is expected to propel Third Wave Coffee’s ambitious expansion plans, including their venture into new food categories. This strategic move aims to enhance their market presence and diversify their offerings, thus fortifying their position in the competitive coffee sector.
