JSA Guides PepsiCo on Strategic Bottling Deal with Varun Beverages in India

In a significant development within the Indian beverage industry, PepsiCo India Holdings Private Limited has formalized an updated Exclusive Bottling Appointment and Trademark Licence Agreement with Varun Beverages Limited. This strategic move was facilitated by the esteemed legal firm JSA Advocates & Solicitors, who provided comprehensive legal counsel to PepsiCo during the execution of this agreement and accompanying contracts with Varun Beverages.

The legal expertise at JSA was spearheaded by Partner Kartik Jain, with crucial support from Senior Associate Dushyant Thakur and Associate Anmol Mahajan. The agreement extends the bottling rights and trademark license previously granted to Varun Beverages, now set to expire on April 30, 2049, effectively prolonging the collaboration by an additional decade.

Notably, the revised terms remove prior restrictions that limited Varun Beverages to exclusively operate under PepsiCo’s business umbrella. This adjustment signifies a pivotal shift in the operational dynamics between the two companies, potentially allowing Varun Beverages greater flexibility in its business operations.

Varun Beverages stands as PepsiCo’s principal bottling partner in India and ranks among the largest bottlers in PepsiCo’s global network outside of the United States. This renewed agreement is poised to enhance the strategic partnership and drive growth within the Indian market.
