Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas Assists UNSW in Launching Bengaluru Campus

Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas (CAM), a prominent Indian law firm, has played a pivotal role in advising the University of New South Wales (UNSW) on the establishment of its inaugural campus in Bengaluru, India. This significant development marks UNSW’s first foray into the Indian education sector, with the institution already recognized as the top-ranked Australian university, holding an impressive QS World Universities Ranking of 19.

The University has successfully secured a Certificate of Registration from the University Grants Commission (UGC), clearing a major regulatory hurdle in its expansion plans. The Bengaluru campus is scheduled to open its doors in August 2026 and will offer a diverse range of programs, including the Bachelor of Business, Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Bachelor of Data Science and Decisions, Master of Cyber Security, and Bachelor of Media in Public Relations & Advertising.

The transaction was expertly handled by a dedicated team from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas. Leading the charge was Ketaki Mehta, Partner at GIFT City, supported by Senior Associates Jinisha Motwani and Hridaykrishna Motwani, along with Associate Sakshi Nathani. Their focus was primarily on the transaction aspects of the deal.

Aarushi Jain, Partner and Head of Media, Education & Gaming, alongside Partner Pooja Kapadia, provided crucial advice on data and intellectual property matters.
