Vardharma Law, previously known as Vardharma Chambers, has announced significant changes in its leadership. Vidula Mehrotra has been promoted to Partner, and Roshni Khirbath has been brought on board as a Partner, enhancing the firm’s partnership trio in New Delhi.
Vidula Mehrotra, who previously held the position of Senior Associate, now leads the firm’s Litigation practice. As an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India, she has been with Vardharma Law since its foundation. With over nine years of legal experience, Mehrotra’s expertise encompasses civil and commercial litigation, service and labor law, criminal defense, and constitutional writ matters. Her practice frequently brings her before the Supreme Court, the Delhi High Court, and various specialized tribunals.
Mehrotra’s role as a filing Advocate-on-Record has seen her independently manage Special Leave Petitions, writ proceedings, contempt petitions, and criminal appeals, alongside matters relating to service law, insolvency, and arbitration. Commenting on her new role, Mehrotra stated, “Being an Advocate-on-Record has involved taking direct ownership of cases before the Supreme Court, from filing through to the final hearing. As our litigation practice expands, I am committed to maintaining a high level of direct, senior involvement in every case, regardless of its magnitude.”
Roshni Khirbath joins the partnership to lead Strategic Growth and Client Partnerships. Her responsibilities will include strategic development, client engagement, and enhancing the firm’s external and international relationships. She will collaborate closely with Vardharma Law’s litigation, transactional, and cross-border practices. Khirbath remarked, “This new phase aligns with the simultaneous scaling of our litigation, arbitration, private equity, M&A, and cross-border work. My focus will be on ensuring that our relationships with clients, investors, and international partners evolve in tandem with our growth.”
Somesh Tiwari, the Managing Partner, highlighted that these appointments are indicative of the firm’s ongoing expansion. “Vidula’s promotion formalizes the pivotal role she has already been playing. She has independently managed some of our most critical cases before the Supreme Court, and such ownership is precisely what we aim to cultivate as our litigation practice grows,” Tiwari stated. He added, “Roshni’s arrival coincided with a crucial phase of expanding our client relationships and international presence. Her new role reflects the significant contributions she has made in this area. These appointments demonstrate our evolution into a robust litigation and arbitration practice, complemented by our work in transactions, private equity, M&A, and cross-border engagements.”
