Vijay Aggarwal, a prominent criminal trial attorney from Delhi known for representing fugitive businessman Mehul Choksi, has been arrested in London on allegations of sexual assault. The charges, reported by the Times of India, include four counts of sexual assault involving two women.
Aggarwal’s personal assistant, Manpreet Kaur, is also facing legal action with charges of intentionally encouraging or assisting these alleged sexual offences. Both Aggarwal, aged 57, and Kaur, aged 41, were presented before the Westminster Magistrates’ Court on August 13. Following this, they were remanded in custody and the case was forwarded to Southwark Crown Court, where a plea and trial preparation hearing is scheduled for September 10.
The two accused individuals, both Indian nationals, were apprehended on August 11 at a serviced townhouse located on Brick Street in Mayfair, a well-known area in London. Their arrests were prompted by complaints of sexual assault at the location. Specifically, Aggarwal faces three charges related to incidents on August 9, where he allegedly engaged in non-consensual sexual touching, an offence outlined in Section 3 of the Sexual Offences Act, 2003. The fourth charge pertains to an alleged incident on May 26.
Manpreet Kaur has been accused of facilitating or assisting the commission of sexual assault on both May 26 and August 9. According to the prosecution, Kaur is alleged to have introduced the victims to Aggarwal and invited them to the townhouse following the posting of a misleading job advertisement.
Furthermore, the investigation led to the arrest of two additional individuals on August 11—a 23-year-old man and a 43-year-old woman. They have since been released on bail as further inquiries continue.

Aggarwal has garnered attention for his legal representation of Mehul Choksi in extradition proceedings in Belgium. Choksi was detained in Belgium in April 2025 in response to an extradition request from India. He, along with his nephew Nirav Modi and others, is accused of defrauding the Punjab National Bank of approximately ₹13,500 crore, though Choksi denies these allegations.
