Willkie Farr & Gallagher has made a significant strategic appointment by naming Dharshini Prasad as the chair of its international arbitration practice in London. Prasad, an esteemed partner at the firm, brings a wealth of experience and expertise in managing intricate cross-border disputes.
An alumna of the National University of Singapore’s Faculty of Law, Prasad furthered her legal education with a Master of Laws from New York University School of Law. Her impressive career at Willkie spans over four years, during which she has become recognized for her proficiency in handling complex, high-stakes arbitrations that span various industries globally.
Prasad’s qualifications are extensive, allowing her to practice law in three major jurisdictions: Singapore, England and Wales, and New York. This global perspective is vital to her role, where she advises on multi-jurisdictional disputes, often involving billion-dollar valuations.
Beyond her responsibilities at Willkie, Prasad is actively involved in the wider arbitration community. She holds positions on the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA) Court and the ICC UK Arbitration Committee. Additionally, she contributes as an editor for the AAA Dispute Resolution Journal and imparts her knowledge by teaching arbitration techniques worldwide. Her input was also pivotal in drafting the Singapore International Arbitration Centre’s (SIAC) Arbitration Rules for 2016 and 2017.
In conjunction with Prasad’s appointment, Willkie has also named Kristen Young as the global co-chair of international arbitration, underscoring the firm’s commitment to strengthening its leadership in this critical practice area.
