In a significant appointment, Rachana Yadav has taken on the role of Director of Legal and Compliance at Whirlpool India. Yadav, a distinguished alumna of the Dr. Ram Manohar Lohiya National Law University in Lucknow, graduated in 2014. Furthering her legal education, she acquired an LLM in Business Laws from the National Law School of India University, adding to her formidable legal acumen.
Yadav brings to Whirlpool India an impressive 12 years of legal experience, with particular expertise in contract drafting and negotiation, brand extensions, labeling, risk assessment, and due diligence. Her proficiency extends to ensuring compliance with regulatory and advertising laws, and her knowledge of self-regulatory bodies such as the Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) is noteworthy. Additionally, she has a firm grasp of the Consumer Protection Act and the Cable Television Network Rules, enhancing her capabilities in the fields of dispute resolution and litigation.
Her legal practice is extensive, having appeared before the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, and several judicial and quasi-judicial bodies including the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal (ITAT), Customs, Excise, and Service Tax Appellate Tribunal (CESTAT), National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), and the Telecom Disputes Settlement and Appellate Tribunal (TDSAT), among others.
Before joining Whirlpool India, Yadav served as a legal counsel for Beam Suntory, a role in which she honed her skills in corporate law. Her previous professional journey also includes significant tenures at leading law firms such as AZB & Partners and PDS Legal, where she further solidified her legal foundation.
