Skechers South Asia Pvt Ltd has appointed Debasish Roychowdhury as the Senior General Manager and Head of Legal, Company Secretary, and Compliance. A graduate of Sarsuna Law College in 2017, Roychowdhury furthered his education with an LLM in Corporate and Financial Law from Jindal Global Law School. His professional affiliations include membership in The Institute of Company Secretaries of India.
Roychowdhury brings a wealth of experience to Skechers, with 23 years of leadership roles spanning various sectors such as Manufacturing, FMCG, Beverages, Consulting, Multinational Corporations, IT/ITES, Banking, Financial Services, Global Capability Centers, Fintech, Retail, and Lifestyle. His expertise encompasses Corporate Governance, Regulatory Compliance, Enterprise Risk and Ethics, Data Protection and Privacy, Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) concerns, Cyber and Technology Law, AI Governance, Fintech and Payments Regulation, Intellectual Property Rights Strategy, and Employment Law.
Throughout his career, Roychowdhury has successfully led initiatives involving mergers and acquisitions, corporate restructuring, private equity, and global investor relations. His experience also covers structuring for Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) compliance, Reserve Bank of India (RBI) compounding, initial public offering (IPO) readiness, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) and Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements (LODR) compliance, capital markets, and significant fundraising efforts.
Before his current role at Skechers, Roychowdhury served as General Counsel at In-Solutions Global Ltd for three and a half years.
