Equilex has announced the addition of Chiraagdeep Singh Dhillon as a Partner to take charge of its Banking & Finance practice. Dhillon’s appointment marks a significant step for the firm, aiming to expand its expertise in financial services. A 2010 graduate of Punjabi University, Dhillon brings over 16 years of experience to the table, having worked with major institutions like ICICI Bank and Anglo American.
During his tenure at these organizations, Dhillon has managed a diverse array of banking and finance issues across key regions including APAC, EMEA, the UK, and the US. He has honed his skills in regulatory matters, structured and trade finance, bond issuances, and derivative documentation. Furthermore, his roles have equipped him with the knowledge to offer in-depth advisory on anti-money laundering (AML), sanctions, and data privacy issues, particularly within the financial sector.
Deep Roy, the Founding & Managing Partner of Equilex, expressed his enthusiasm over Dhillon’s joining, stating, “Chiraag is an old friend who will help augment and steer the financial services practice of the firm. Equilex believes in facilitating solutions and ensuring that each delivery has a meaningful value add. The quality and knowledge base of Chiraag will help achieve such objectives. We welcome Chiraag to the Equilex family.”
Dhillon, sharing his excitement, mentioned, “I am thrilled to be part of Equilex at this stage of its growth. After spending over a decade in Singapore, returning to India to build something of my own, in a market I know extensively with a partner like Deep and a platform like Equilex, felt right for me. I have the opportunity to bring my experiences and expertise from global institutions on both the buy and sell side to the advisory side. I’m here to build, not just a robust Banking and Finance practice but Equilex’s broader vision.”
