The Gujarat High Court Arbitration Centre (GHAC) is gearing up to host the highly anticipated GHAC Arbitration Week 2026, scheduled from September 3 to 6, 2026. This significant event is themed ‘Three stakeholders, three days, one vision,’ focusing on the advancement of Gujarat’s institutional arbitration framework.
The event promises a comprehensive program spanning four days, designed to bring together esteemed judges, top-tier advocates, government legal representatives, and renowned international arbitration experts. These participants will explore both domestic and international arbitration advancements. The inaugural ceremony is set for September 3, with the core sessions running from September 4 to 6, featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions, and insightful sessions on India’s evolving arbitration landscape and its global interactions.
The conference will delve into multiple themes, reflecting on the legal progress since 2015 and proposing necessary amendments for a more robust arbitration regime. It will also tackle contemporary topics, such as the incorporation of Artificial Intelligence in Arbitration and the complexities of conflict of law issues in international contexts.
Distinguished Guests
The event will be graced by notable figures such as Bhupendrabhai Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat, along with Supreme Court Justices PS Narasimha, KV Viswanathan, NV Anjaria, and Vipul M Pancholi. Also in attendance will be Harsh Sanghavi, Gujarat’s Deputy Chief Minister and Law & Justice Minister, and Kaushik Vekariya, Minister of State for Law & Justice, Gujarat.

Among the keynote and guest speakers are Justice Rohinton Fali Nariman, former Supreme Court Judge of India and Vice President of the ICC International Court of Arbitration, and Justice L Nageswara Rao, also a former Supreme Court Judge. Session Highlights
The event will feature several thought-provoking sessions. ‘The Post-2015 Amendment Era’ will be discussed by Justice Tejas Karia and other legal luminaries, moderated by Senior Advocate Shalin Mehta. Another session, ‘An Introduction to Investment Treaty Arbitration,’ will highlight the roles of Additional Solicitor General N Venkataraman and Senior Advocate Arvind Datar.
The session on ‘Rules of Private International Law in International Commercial Arbitration’ will bring insights from Vijaya Kumar Rajah SC and other eminent speakers, facilitated by Advocate Anirudh Krishnan. Additionally, ‘Institutional Arbitration Practices’ and ‘Technology & AI in the Proceedings of International and Domestic Arbitration’ will feature discussions led by experts like Senior Advocate Gourab Banerji and others.
In the concluding session, ‘A Judge’s Wish List of What the Law Ought to Be,’ Chief Justice Sunita Agarwal and former judiciary members will share their perspectives, moderated by Senior Advocate Saurabh N Soparkar.
