The Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration (MCIA) is set to host the sixth edition of India ADR Week (IAW) 2026 from September 7 to 11. This prestigious event will take place in Bengaluru, Mumbai, and New Delhi, marking a decade of MCIA’s influential role in the field of arbitration. This milestone event aims to unite a diverse group of judges, arbitrators, legal practitioners, in-house counsel, arbitral institutions, and industry leaders from across the globe for a series of insightful discussions, debates, and networking opportunities.
Justice Surya Kant, the Chief Justice of India, will deliver the keynote address on the final day of the event in New Delhi. Additionally, Justice Vibhu Bakhru, Chief Justice of the Karnataka High Court, will inaugurate the proceedings in Bengaluru as the Chief Guest. The opening remarks on September 9 in Mumbai will be presented by Justice G.S. Kulkarni, a judge at the Bombay High Court.
With more than 20 sessions planned, India ADR Week 2026 will delve into the most recent developments in international arbitration and dispute resolution. Key topics will include the impact of artificial intelligence on dispute resolution, the importance of diversity, arbitration seats, third-party funding, cross-border data privacy issues, energy disputes, construction arbitration, issue estoppel, and the evolving role of in-house counsel in these processes.
A new addition to this year’s agenda is the jurisdiction-focused corridor events. These include the Singapore Corridor Event in Mumbai and the MENA Corridor Event in New Delhi. These sessions are designed to bring together leading practitioners from the respective regions to discuss significant developments in international arbitration, foster cross-border collaboration, and enhance dialogue on shared concerns.
Further enriching the programme, MCIA will host debates across all three cities. These debates will provide a platform for senior advocates, arbitrators, and international practitioners to engage with some of the most pressing and controversial issues in the field of dispute resolution.
