Rial Verma has taken on the role of General Counsel at Sarvam AI, officially known as Axonwise Private Limited. A 2017 alumna of ILS Law College in Pune, Verma brings nearly a decade of legal expertise to her new position.
Verma’s career commenced in the law firm sector, where she gained valuable experience at Wadhwa Law Offices and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. Her transition to in-house counsel roles marked a significant shift, allowing her to focus on Legal & Compliance functions. Her areas of specialization include Corporate Law, Technology Law, and Intellectual Property Law.
Prior to her appointment at Sarvam AI, Verma made significant contributions as the Head of Legal at Whatfix. Her strategic legal insights are expected to be a valuable asset to Sarvam AI, especially following the company’s recent Series B funding success.
Sarvam AI has secured a $300 million investment during its Series B funding round. This financial boost was spearheaded by HCL Technologies and Bessemer Venture Partners, with additional support from existing investors. The legal intricacies of this fundraising effort were managed by leading law firms Trilegal, TT&A, Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, and Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas.
