Aakash Bajaj, a notable disputes partner at Khaitan & Co, is embarking on a new professional journey by launching his independent counsel practice in both Kolkata and Delhi. The move comes as Bajaj seeks to expand his legal footprint and exercise greater autonomy in his practice.

Career Achievements

Bajaj’s legal career commenced at Khaitan & Co, where he made significant strides, culminating in his promotion to Partner at the Delhi office in 2022. An alumnus of Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Bajaj graduated in 2013 and is an Advocate-on-Record with the Supreme Court of India.

With nearly 13 years of robust legal experience, Bajaj has represented both Indian and multinational corporations. His expertise spans across various domains, including constitutional law, taxation, succession, inheritance law, shareholder disputes, mining, and other commercial legal matters. He has appeared before the Supreme Court, the Delhi High Court, and the Calcutta High Court. Additionally, he is well-versed in domestic and international arbitration and has been involved in cases before tribunals such as the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), the National Company Law Appellate Tribunal (NCLAT), and the National Green Tribunal (NGT).

Focus of the New Practice

In his newly established practice, Bajaj aims to continue his focus on litigation, arbitration, and regulatory practices. His primary attention will be directed towards the Calcutta High Court and the Supreme Court. To support this venture, he has set up offices in both Kolkata and Delhi.
