Shaneen Parikh, previously the Head of International Arbitration at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, has taken a new role as a Partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co. She joins the firm’s Dispute Resolution practice, focusing on International Arbitration, and will be stationed in Mumbai starting August 17, 2026. Her departure from CAM was reported by Bar and Bench earlier this year.
Extensive Expertise in Arbitration
With over 30 years of professional experience, Parikh is a dual-qualified solicitor in both India and England & Wales. She holds the position of Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India and is also a registered foreign lawyer with the Singapore International Commercial Court. Parikh has substantial experience acting in arbitrations located in major hubs such as Singapore, London, New York, Geneva, Zurich, Dubai, and various Indian cities. These proceedings have been managed under the rules of SIAC, ICC, LCIA, MCIA, DIAC, and ICA, as well as ad hoc arbitrations.
Her legal practice encompasses a wide array of disputes, including commercial and investor-state disputes, shareholder and post-merger & acquisition conflicts, private equity exits, put options, and financial valuations. She also deals with ISDA agreements, structured financial products, infrastructure and construction disputes, and issues related to media and intellectual property.
Influence in International Arbitration
Parikh is actively involved in the international arbitration community. She is a member of the Governing Board of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) and serves as Vice Chair of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. She is part of the Council of the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration and acts as an Ambassador for the Asia Pacific Arbitration Group of the International Bar Association. Previously, she was a member of the Court of Arbitration at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre from 2018 to 2022 and contributed to drafting the institutional arbitration rules for the proposed International Arbitration Centre at GIFT City, Gujarat.
Her career includes a significant tenure of two decades at the former Amarchand Mangaldas and another ten years at CAM as Partner and Head of International Arbitration.
