Arpita Mukherjee Joins Hammurabi & Solomon as Senior Partner

Renowned legal professional Arpita Mukherjee has joined Hammurabi & Solomon Partners as a Senior Partner, enhancing the firm’s Corporate and Commercial practice. Mukherjee, who graduated from the Campus Law Centre, Faculty of Law, University of Delhi, brings over 35 years of legal experience to the firm, reinforcing its ability to offer strategic, commercially-focused legal counsel to businesses and leadership teams across India.

Throughout her distinguished career, Mukherjee has held senior legal and General Counsel positions at several notable Indian and multinational organizations. Her extensive experience includes roles at ICICI, IL&FS, Genpact, Nokia Siemens Networks, Aricent Technologies, Levi Strauss & Co., METRO Cash & Carry, Tata Teleservices, and Fabindia. Her expertise spans corporate and commercial advisory, strategic transactions, business reorganizations, complex commercial negotiations, regulatory and compliance matters, as well as governance and risk management.

Mukherjee’s practice is significantly informed by her experience as a General Counsel, particularly in areas such as technology and telecommunications, e-commerce, data protection, intellectual property, employment, and consumer-facing businesses. She has provided counsel on acquisition due diligence, IPO and DRHP readiness, restructuring, compliance architecture, and the implementation of legal frameworks within operational businesses. Additionally, her experience includes pre-litigation strategy, risk mitigation, negotiation, settlement, and handling matters before courts, tribunals, arbitration, and consumer forums.

Prior to joining Hammurabi & Solomon Partners, Mukherjee was a Consultant at Anand and Anand for three years.
