Bing Yan, a seasoned arbitration expert and Skadden Counsel, has been appointed as the Executive Director of the Abu Dhabi International Arbitration Centre (ADIAC). Yan’s legal journey began with her graduation from Wuhan University in 2005, followed by the attainment of her LLM from the University of Pennsylvania in 2010.
With over 20 years of extensive experience in international arbitration, Yan has practiced law across major global cities, including Shanghai, New York, Singapore, and London. Her expertise spans representing clients in arbitration proceedings under the auspices of all leading arbitral institutions. Yan has successfully managed disputes encompassing a wide array of commercial and financial issues.
Yan’s practice is characterized by her involvement in high-profile investment treaty arbitrations and multi-billion dollar litigation cases. Her legal acumen covers an impressive range of sectors such as energy, mining, insurance, and trusts. Furthermore, she holds significant expertise in white-collar matters, notably including investigations under the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA).
Throughout her illustrious career, Yan has been associated with top-tier international law firms, having worked with Herbert Smith Freehills, White & Case, and Skadden Arps. Her move to the Middle East last year as Counsel with Skadden Arps marked a significant step in her career trajectory.
The appointment of Bing Yan as Executive Director is anticipated to enhance the strategic capabilities of the Abu Dhabi International Arbitration Centre, leveraging her extensive global experience and legal proficiency.
