Emerge Legal, a reputed law firm, has announced the appointment of Kaaba Khan to lead their Media and Entertainment practice along with the Intellectual Property and Commercial practice from their Mumbai office. Khan, who holds a degree from New Law College, Bharati Vidyapeeth University, brings with her extensive experience in the realms of media, entertainment, and intellectual property law.
Khan transitions from her previous role at GK Legal, where she served as a Partner. At GK Legal, she specialized in providing counsel on various aspects of media and entertainment law, intellectual property, commercial law, business law, as well as real estate and land matters. Her legal career also includes a significant tenure at Trilegal, where she engaged in capital markets transactions, notably working on initial public offerings and debt issuances.
In her new role at Emerge Legal, Khan will be responsible for leading the Mumbai team in handling complex matters such as content production and acquisition, rights licensing and distribution, and managing talent and endorsement agreements. She will also focus on trademark and copyright protection and enforcement, in addition to overseeing cross-border transactions involving Indian rights holders and content. Her role will encompass commercial and business law transactions as well.
