BCI to Administer 24th Qualifying Exam for Foreign Law Graduates

The Bar Council of India (BCI) is set to conduct its 24th qualifying examination for Indian nationals who have obtained their law degrees from foreign institutions. The examination will run from July 15 to July 21, 2026, excluding Sunday, July 19.

This rigorous examination comprises six papers, each carrying 100 marks. Candidates will be tested on consecutive days with sessions scheduled from 11 AM to 2 PM. The subjects for the first three papers include the Constitution of India, Contract Law and Negotiable Instruments Act, and Company Law. For these, candidates are not permitted to bring any books, bare acts, or study materials into the examination hall.

For the latter three papers, candidates may carry individual bare acts, provided they are unmarked and free from annotations or notes. However, the use of books, guides, or question-answer materials remains strictly prohibited across all examinations.

Prospective candidates must submit their application forms by June 25, 2026. The application process requires a signed and scanned form accompanied by self-attested copies of all necessary documents. These should be emailed to acadcommitteebci@gmail.com, with the originals sent by post to the BCI’s address. Once the forms are evaluated, candidates will receive links for fee payment, which must be completed by July 5, 2026.

For more information, candidates are encouraged to review the official notification and syllabus.
