Four Indian Lawyers Appointed as ICC YAAF South Asia Representatives

In a significant development for the arbitration community, four distinguished Indian legal practitioners have been selected as regional representatives for the South Asia chapter of the International Chamber of Commerce (ICC) Young Arbitrators and ADR Forum (ICC YAAF) for the 2026-2028 tenure. The appointed practitioners are Dr. Abhimanyu Chopra, Anushka Shah, Niyati Gandhi, and Sneha Nagaraj.

This selection is part of a broader appointment of 116 Regional Representatives across ICC YAAF’s seven global chapters, which include Africa, the Middle East, North Asia, South Asia, Europe & Central Asia, Latin America, and North America. The South Asia chapter encompasses delegates from countries such as Australia, Singapore, Thailand, Bhutan, Malaysia, Vietnam, Indonesia, Nepal, and Sri Lanka, reflecting a diverse and inclusive representation.

ICC YAAF serves as the young practitioners’ network within the ICC International Court of Arbitration, with regional representatives collaborating with chapter heads to foster networks and orchestrate events and initiatives that support young practitioners.

Profiles of the Appointed Indian Practitioners

Dr. Abhimanyu Chopra is a partner at AZB & Partners in Delhi. With over 14 years of experience, Dr. Chopra’s practice encompasses commercial disputes, arbitration, and intellectual property and technology law. He is actively involved with the ICC India Arbitration Group’s Research and Policy Committee.

Anushka Shah, a partner at Unum Law, is a dual-qualified lawyer based in New Delhi, specializing in international disputes and commercial law. Her engagement extends to the Young SIAC and Young ICCA networks, showcasing her commitment to the global arbitration community.

Niyati Gandhi is a partner at Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, located in Mumbai. Her legal expertise covers international investment and commercial arbitration, complex commercial litigation, and cross-border enforcement. Gandhi has previously contributed as Secretary to the MCIA’s Rules Drafting Committee and as Co-Chair of Young MCIA.

Sneha Nagaraj, a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (FCIArb) and partner at Frontline Law Partners in Bengaluru, is a seasoned litigator, arbitrator, and mediator with a focus on intricate commercial disputes. She is also aligned with the Centre for Effective Dispute Resolution (CEDR).

The newly appointed Indian representatives will collaborate with the other 11 South Asian representatives under the leadership of Tejus Chauhan, the Director, along with Deputy Directors Irene Mira and Khushboo Deshmukh.
