Ankita Kumar has been appointed as a Partner at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, taking her expertise to the firm’s New Delhi office. She will be leading the Corporate Practice with a focus on the Aviation, Aerospace, and Defence sectors. Kumar, who graduated from NALSAR University of Law, Hyderabad in 2008, brings with her a wealth of experience in these specialized fields.
Throughout her career, Kumar has advised numerous clients across various facets of the aviation and defence industries, including civil and general aviation, advanced air mobility, and NewSpace sectors. Her legal acumen covers a wide array of areas such as regulatory, transactional, and strategic matters. Kumar is well-versed in handling high-value and cross-border mandates, having gained experience from both prominent law firms and her tenure in the in-house legal team at IndiGo Airlines.
Kumar’s professional portfolio includes managing aircraft acquisition and leasing, facilitating financing transactions, and orchestrating mergers and acquisitions, as well as joint ventures. Her expertise extends to airport development and operations, defence procurement, manufacturing, supply-chain arrangements, and navigating sector-specific policies and compliance issues.
Prior to her new role at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, Kumar was associated with Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co for over four years. Her transition marks a significant move within the legal industry, promising to enhance Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas’s capabilities in the aviation, aerospace, and defence sectors.
