Economic Laws Practice (ELP) has successfully represented major energy companies including Qatar Energy, Equate, OQ, and TotalEnergies in a high-profile anti-dumping investigation. The case focused on the imports of “Linear Low-Density Polyethylene” (LLDPE), a significant industrial material, originating from countries such as Kuwait, Malaysia, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.
The Directorate General of Trade Remedies (DGTR) oversaw the investigation, where ELP adeptly handled critical elements of the case, including accusations of dumping, the resultant injury to domestic industries, standing, and the concept of de minimis, which refers to negligible levels of dumping. The DGTR accepted ELP’s defenses, marking a successful outcome for the firms represented.
