Bombay High Court Initiates Investigation into Alleged Forgery of Court Orders

The Bombay High Court has mandated a thorough investigation by both police and cyber cell into claims of forged court orders related to a family dispute involving the Jindal family, in the case titled Rekha Parmanand Jindal v. Shylender Jindal & Ors. Justice Arif S Doctor emphasized the gravity of these allegations and has ordered an inquiry prior to any further court proceedings.

During a hearing, Shylender Jindal filed an interim application requesting the court to retract orders dated January 24 and February 7, 2025. He asserted that these orders were issued without granting him an opportunity to be heard.

Jindal accused Purvi Shah and his former legal representative of forging or fabricating the court orders, which were allegedly sent to him in lieu of the genuine documents. In response, Shah, who represented herself, refuted the allegations and claimed that Jindal was responsible for any fabrications. Shah’s counsel expressed a willingness to undergo scrutiny.

Justice Doctor identified the fundamental issue as determining the origin and instigator of the disputed orders. He stated, “In my view, before proceeding further in the matter, the issue of how and at whose instance the orders have come into existence is crucial and must be investigated into.”

Consequently, the court instructed the Registrar General to file a formal complaint with the appropriate police and cyber authorities, initiating an investigation into the creation of the disputed documents. The authorities have been tasked with submitting an inquiry report to the court within four weeks, according to the directive dated June 18.

The court clarified that it has not yet assessed the validity of the accusations from either party. Further hearings on the interim application will be postponed until the inquiry concludes.

The legal representation for Shylender Jindal includes Advocates Ryan D’souza, Sujit Bhuvare, and Shivam Laturiya. Advocates Vikramaditya Deshmukh, Priya Chaubey, and Sapna Rachure represent Rekha Jindal.
