Shaneen Parikh, previously the Head of International Arbitration at Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas, has transitioned to Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas & Co, assuming the role of Partner within their Dispute Resolution practice. Her new position, which she will commence on August 17, 2026, will see her stationed in Mumbai, focusing on international arbitration.
Parikh’s departure from Cyril Amarchand Mangaldas was earlier reported by Bar and Bench. Bringing over thirty years of expertise, she is a dual-qualified solicitor in both India and England & Wales. Furthermore, she holds the unique distinction of being an Advocate-on-Record at the Supreme Court of India and is also registered as a foreign lawyer with the Singapore International Commercial Court.
Her extensive experience includes participation in arbitrations in major global hubs such as Singapore, London, New York, Geneva, Zurich, Dubai, and various locations across India. These arbitrations have been governed by prominent rules from institutions like SIAC, ICC, LCIA, MCIA, DIAC, and ICA, alongside ad hoc proceedings. Parikh’s expertise spans commercial and investor-state disputes, including shareholder disagreements, post M&A conflicts, private equity exits, put options, valuations, and issues involving ISDA and structured financial products. Her work also covers infrastructure and construction disputes, as well as media and intellectual property cases.
One of Parikh’s notable professional achievements includes representing a successful party in a Supreme Court ruling that confirmed the autonomy of Indian parties in choosing a foreign arbitration seat. This landmark decision has significant implications for Indian arbitration law.
In addition to her arbitration practice, Parikh is well-versed in high-stakes commercial litigation, regularly appearing before the High Courts, the Supreme Court, and the National Company Law Tribunal. Her litigation expertise includes precedent-setting cases in areas such as securities fraud, commodities trading, and mandatory amalgamation under the Companies Act.

An advocate for third-party funding, Parikh guides both clients and funders in navigating the Indian market and holds a directorial position with the Indian Association of Litigation Funders.
Her contributions to the field are further underscored by her roles on the Governing Board of the International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) and as Vice Chair of the ICC Commission on Arbitration and ADR. She is also actively involved with the Mumbai Centre for International Arbitration and serves as an Ambassador for the Asia Pacific Arbitration Group of the International Bar Association. From 2018 to 2022, she was a member of the Court of Arbitration at the Singapore International Arbitration Centre and contributed to drafting arbitration rules for the proposed International Arbitration Centre at GIFT City, Gujarat.
Before joining Shardul Amarchand Mangaldas, Parikh spent two decades with the former Amarchand Mangaldas and another decade at CAM, where she led the international arbitration practice.
