Fellowship Details

Job Title: CFC Fellow

Department: Gender Equality and Empowerment

Compensation: ₹6 Lakh Per Annum + benefits

Locations: Nainital (Uttarakhand) and Shimla (Himachal Pradesh)

Role and Responsibilities

MAP is seeking two dedicated CFC Fellows to assist the State Coordinators in a variety of tasks including institutional engagement, capacity building, and program implementation. The positions involve extensive travel within the state and periodic travel to Delhi. Preference is given to candidates with a strong connection to either Uttarakhand or Himachal Pradesh, including prior practice experience or relevant professional engagement in those states.

Key Responsibilities

1. Institutional Coordination and Capacity Building

Fellows will engage with legal service institutions, the judiciary, bar associations, and state institutions to enhance access to justice, particularly for marginalized groups. They will assist with policy implementation, identify systemic issues, and support advocacy for policy reforms.

2. Partnerships, Coalitions, and Advocacy

Fellows will help forge partnerships with law schools, bar associations, and CSOs, coordinating state-level coalitions to strengthen access to justice initiatives. They will also document these processes and outcomes.

3. Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)

Fellows will support MEL frameworks at state and district levels, participate in assessments, and maintain documentation of program progress and best practices.

4. Communications, Outreach, and Events

Fellows will develop communication materials and organize regional events to bolster community and stakeholder outreach, enhancing legal awareness and access to aid services.

5. Research, Documentation, and Knowledge Generation

Fellows will assist in research efforts on access to justice issues and contribute to producing thematic reports and policy briefs.

6. Programme Operations and Administration

Fellows will support project implementation, reporting, and budget tracking, ensuring effective program delivery under the State Coordinator’s supervision.

Ideal Candidates

The program seeks law graduates with 0-2 years of experience and a deep commitment to human rights and justice issues. Proficiency in Hindi and English is required.
